4l80 Trans brakes/mvb ??
The HD2 kit is not full manual, it just makes firmer shifts.
The HD3 kit is full manual.
With our full manual setup, it is plug and play reversible to PCM control.
Using a computer, you can still manually shift the 4L80E.
If you use a manual VB it must always be manually shifted.

OK, so it seems I don't need shift kit at all if I'm going to get MVB.
Could you please explain that a bit?
Can I have best of both worlds, i.e. tranny staying in gear when I need it (I would hate it to change the gear when I'm taking corner sideways on wet road), and fast changing gears during dragrace or just good start from the lights?

If you put the shifter in 3rd, there is physically no oil to go to 4th, so the trans will still go 1-2-3 autmoatically.
the 2000 car 4L60E tune has "2nd gear start", so if I put the shifter in 2nd, it will stay in 2nd ALL the time.
If I put the shifter in 1st (well, at as long as I don't downshift to 1st about 30 something mph) it will always stay in 1st.
Its about as good as you can get as far as best of both worlds.
That makes sense... So it means if I put selector into gear N, it will not go HIGHER than N, but may select lower gear? Let's say I want to take a corner at 2000rpm, put selector in 2nd, it still might change to 1st? Is it normal "auto" valve body?
And if I opt for manual valve body, if I select 2nd gear it won't change anywhere and stay in 2nd forever?

My friends truck (very early 99 GMC with 4.8L PCM) will shift 1-2 even if the shifter is in 1st. But EFILive can correct this (currently hptuners tuned).
Correct. The gear the shifter is in is the gear that the transmission will be in.....forever.

I still do not fully understand this... Could you please expalin this a bit? How is it reversible? How can I manually shift if I'm using computer (so I guess it's not manual valve body)?
Im going to order the trans brake with the FMVB from Jake in a few weeks. I have one of his old style style brake with the TransGo-3 FMVB in my 4L80 right now , but the new one said it has a quicker release rate and has it own FMVB.
