Question Changing converter, What all is needed.

I am going to be changing my converter within a few weeks, I am going to change Transmission fluid and the filter. I will be going with a TCI ssf 3500, What kind of tranny fluid do you recommend, and what filter to get? Thanks. Anything else I may need to know?

Oh yeah where do I get the Fluid and filter? and about what will it run me?

Also going with a tranny cooler, do I need anything for it, or is everything i need coming in a kit?

Thanks

regular old dexron fluid works for me.....few bucks a quart, depends where ya shop. also most tranny coolers include fittings, clamps, zip-ties (to fasten to radiator) etc. my Perma-Cool cooler included everything i needed for install.

I use regular dexron with gm filter. Cooler install is no big deal.
You may need a prybar to aid in separating the tranny and block.
You may need a tool that is hooked on one end and comes to a point to get the clips out that hold the tranny lines in place. Good Jack too.

thanks guys,

I thought about puttin royal purple in it. Or should I buy a different brand of synthetic. The car has 64,xxx miles on it, and I doubt that this has been changed, I have put about 10,000miles on it since i bought it. It will be ran hard some, but not as much as when i got it, because i got alot of the hot rodding out of my system, lol.

Thanks, any info will help......
