Default Trans. wouldnt shift into overdrive???

I havent driven my car in about a week. I got in it yesterday and went to drive it, I could tell it was acting funny before I even left my driveway. I do have a stall but i know how loose it is, but the car felt like it was trying to start off in drive.. So I figured it just had to warm up so i drove it for about 20min. Got on the interstate and it would shift to overdrive it stayed in drive. WTF???? I went to a buddy of mines house checked the trans fluid and it was fine. Fooled around there for 10 or 15 mins. I get back in my car and everything if fine, it shifted through every gear and it felt like it should. Any suggestions or guess'es of what would cause this?

Oh yeah, last Sat. it done the same thing but this time I had taken the cap off my cut out, I stopped and put it back on and it ran fine???????????????? My trans. isnt about to die is it?

mine does the same thing every once in a while. I can tell you its not the tranny going out though. If I park and turn the car off for 2 min it will function normally.

The engine has to reach closed loop, trans has to be in 4th gear, and tps has to be within range for the tcc solenoid to lock up. Sounds maybe like convertor drain back. I wouldnt be too worried about it.
