Yes the braided -6 is what must guys use when doing this. Make sure to get 1/4 straight pipe to -6 fittings for the trans.

Yes that is correct the ones I mentioned will replace the factory fittings. There is a company that makes fittings to install into your oem push in style cooler fittings but I cant remember the name of the company off hand. Vince

I think I found it for the fittings, it's Pure Choice Motorsports.

I used the -6AN fittings that replace the OEM fittings from Russell:

Yeah don't use tapered threads...For the price the Russell fittings are a much better choice IMO....Only $5 more than the Pure Choice ones...

There is a chance of it happening because the threads are not exact. However I have used them in the past and never broke a case using them. You have to be careful and not over tighten them. Personally why take the chance! Just get what is right and be safe. Vince

So there is enough room to replace the quick connect with a straight fitting and bend a -6AN line up to the trans? I figure it would rub the tunnel really bad or kink over time. My lines were spliced and respliced so I just cut the whole thing out and am using rubber fuel line until I find a better way. My local gm dealer only had a truck 5/16" line sets with the quick connect on the 90 degree bent end, so I tried that with a -6 AN line and compression fittings and there was just to much vibration causing the fittings to leak over time. Does anyone make a 1/4 straight thread fitting x 1/4 tapered pipe or better yet with a sweeping 90 degree? I want to get a 5/16" line set made up at my local hydraulic shop, but i'm striking out on parts. At least with my th400 they used tapered threads facing in a position to put a line straight on.
