Default trans temp gauge ???

Installing a electric trans temp gauge and if there was a good way to install the sender or get a recommendation for a sender that will go inline with the trans lines going to the cooler up front or if im going to be best off pulling the pan and having a bung welded on to to the pan to put a temp sender in that way

IMO I would want to know the temp at the hottest point so that if there was an issue, I would see it right away. I know in most cases people we as close to the trans as possible some units can be tapped for a fitting or off the pan.

But I'll let the experts speak to that.

Some pics I found....

http://www.mrtruck.net/p_pic/pmlford6.jpg built into the pan.

http://media.photobucket.com/image/4...p/P2170219.JPG DIY off the pan

http://www.dieselmanor.com/diy/PSD3-...-sender3lg.jpg I see them sometimes tapped into the transmission.

if i did the inline on the cooler lines i would put it as close to the tranny as possible on the feed line to the cooler just trying to get some options ... ill prolly end up doing like what you put up on the 3rd picture

Have it welded into the pan (the bung I mean)....easiest and simplest way to do it.

Ever think about getting an aeroforce gauge? I figured it would be nice to scan a bunch of things on one gauge so I got one myself. All you do is plug it in the OBD port. It does a TON of things.
