Question Newbie Help! Yank SS3200?

Want to stall my car and i wanted to know if a Yank SS3200 with a B&M Tranny Cooler (29,200 BTU) would be a good setup with stock 2.73 gears?? When i do this will i need anything else for the install or just the torque converter and tranny cooler?(I will be having it installed professionally)...Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Im still waiting for the ss3600 for my 3.23 car.
Well you might wanna go with a new flexplate but if your car is a 99 then you maybe alright. I had to buy a new one because I have the 01-02 pos plate that might break. I got the newest replacement plate from GM. Its not SFI rated but it was recomended by Yank and plenty strong enough.
I would say you need to put some gear in there (3.23-3.73) and go with a ss3600. But if you dont wanna do gears then the ss3200 would probly be a better match for your car but you need to call Dave at Yank and he will inform you.
Most will tell you to go bigger but call dave and he will tell you what the best all around converter will be for your car/gear/power ect...

98-02 LS1 A4s' had 2 varieties of flexplates, the earlier ones with round holes seem to be holding up,the later ones with 'peanut' shaped holes are having problems.

Imo you won't notice the difference between a 273 gear or 323 while driving around.

I recommend going with a 3600. Won't be a noticeable difference, 100 rpms or so around town, but will cut a muh better 60 with much better extensions. The performance gain would be more than worth it for the small small change while driving around.

The diffetence in town pick ups, below lock up which will be around 45, will be around 150rpms.. nothing you will ever notice especially if you have never had anything else. Once you hit lock up it will be exactly like stock.

The performance gain far far outweighs the small difference in town.

Completely depends on who does the work..100$-400$. I'd say 250 would be about right for most places.

Like others have said you should go with a 3600. I would have gone with a 4000+ if I knew what I knew now(3.15 gears though).

Ghost, have your tuner adjust your shift points, rev limiter, turn off p0751 and/or p0757 codes and I recommend replacing your vehicle speed sensor also (only around $25). Those items can freak out the computer and make the tranny go haywire due to the higher stall.

Before you make your mind up you need to talk it over with yank. You can get all the opinions on here but its piece of mind actualy talking with the stall builder. Give yank a call tomorro or call around to others as well. Also, seeing how you have a street car the SS series is gonna be the way to go.

With yank it would be the way to go.. I would also call ptc vig and circle d.

Chances are a vig3200 will be more like a 3400..

I run the ss3200 and the giant tranny cooler. My car runs great. I also have 3.73's, but they were all installed at the same time, so idk if the gears made a difference or not. I know Lemons up there will tell you they don't. Lol.
