Default 4l60e from a 4x4 truck into an f-body.

I'm in the middle of a v8 swap on a 94' F-body. I have an '04 silverado that is serving as the donor vehicle. I've allready pulled both engines and transmissions.

The fbody trans has a 1 piece case (IE no removeable bell housing) and a 4 bolt tail housing.

The truck trans has a 2 piece case (removeable bell housing) and a 6 bolt tail housing.

I've swapped the output shaft from the fbody 4l60e into the transmission from the truck.

The bell housing on the truck trans is broken from the crash so I'll have to get a new one. I understand this is a fairly universal part among LS style engines with 4l60e transmissions, correct?

I also need to get a new tail housing as the truck trans was a 4x4 trans and the 4 bolt from the fbody trans won't fit. My question is: will any 6 bolt 2wd 4l60e tail housing work or do I need an fbody specific 4l60e tailhousing for the torq arm to be connected?

Thanks,

You need an f body specific tail housing if you're going to use a trans mounted torque arm. I've sold my two spares on ebay.

Theres been an LS1 style bellhousing on there for a while for $50. I have a spare one of those too but I'm not selling it for $50. Heres the link EBAY.
I'd call them and verify the casting number. Here is a pic of mine from a 2002 LS1 4L60E. Cast# 24206952

do you recall if your spare tailhousings were 4 bolt or 6 bolt? I have a strange feeling that the torq arm mount ones will all be 4 bolt housings...
