Default Good stall for a DD?

What is a good stall for my 01 Trans Am WS6. It has Lts and a loudmouth 1. It is also my daily driver, especially in the summer.

Without a cam, I would put something like a 3000-3200. Still very streetable and won't effect mileage much as long as you keep your foot out of it.

If you have plans for a cam later you might post it up. Some of the bigger duration cams require more converter is why I mention that.

Agreed. If you plan to put a cam in later, I would bump it up to a 3600 or maybe even a 4000. I have a 228/229 duration 595 lift 112 lsa cam with the yank ss3600 stall in my DD and love it

I agree with Jon. A 3200 converter would be a great choice for a Daily Driver, and most converter companies offer restalls at an affordable price if and when the time comes and you decide youd like to go more extreme.

I have a 3200 from circle D. It drives just like stock. Very reasonable priced converter and great customer service also.

i had a yank 3500, i highly "disliked" it. i now have a custom 2200 and i love it. awesome for daily driving! yeahh i lost some performance. Having the car go to 1600 rpm and gaining speed quick when before i was having to go about 3000 rpm to get it moving at the same rate

What rear gear are you running? If you have 2.73s, anything above about a 3200 stall will feel very loose because of the gears in my opinion.

I love my custom 3800'ish stall.. I could have gone bigger but being a weekend warrior I still wanted some decent drivability.

And don't let someone convince you it won't effect your gas milage. I couldn't keep my foot out of it with the new stall.. It was like my cars inner beast was woken up everytime I floored it after that..

It's WS6 so he has 3.23's. Yank SS 3200 or SS3600 if you want a little bigger. My A4 car is my DD year round and I've run a TCI SF3000 and then a Yank SS3600 for several years now. There wasn't much difference in driveability or performance between the two, but the 3600 required some extra tuning for codes and such.
