Default 4L60E deep pan?

I am searching for a deep pan for my 1997 TA A4, but I am not sure what pan to go with. Can we even run a deep pan on our cars with stock height? I am just trying to keep my stalled stock trans as cool as possible.

Make sure its aluminum as chrome pans tend to leak. Summit brand is nice for the money!

Why do you want a deep pan? Extra fluid capacity?
It sounds like more problems than it's worth to me.

Alot of guys get a truck pan and I guess it adds 1 qrt. Also has a drain plug and isnt so deep that you have to really worry about ride height. I maybe going this route

The B&m pan holds 3 Xtra quarts of fluid. The bigger the capacity the better, think of it as a heat sink.Takes longer to heat up and stays slightly cooler.

A deep pan is not an adequate replacement for a tranny cooler. When I get my stall, I plan on getting a deep pan even though I already have a big *** B&M cooler-I'll run both. A good tranny cooler is about $75 bucks and well worth the cash. I can't imagine doing hot laps or even stop/go traffic in a stalled auto without a cooler...sounds like an AWFUL idea...

^Do you have any idea what temp your tranny runs at? Where'd you buy your pan at, and how is fitment and ground clearance? Im considering running a similar setup.

I run the derale deep pan with cooling tubes along with a large cooler with a fan. I never worry about the tranny getting hot.
