I've learned to start breaking earlier when approaching red lights, that way you put less strain on your engine if you get lucky enough to have it turn green before you get there. Also, not flooring it everywhere helps. I get about 19mpg with minimal dicking around.

id be happy as hell to get 29mpg lol, i get 22 on the highway going back and forth to work. On the way to work, no traffic so easily doing 120 km/h, on the way home, have to deal with serious traffic. Apparently toronto has worse commute times then LA lol. I have 3.73 gears, and work is 40km one way. Engine wise its stock other then lid, pp tb, frta, and lm1. oh and since my rear end has whined since i bought the car, rarely ever floor it. Usually i try to get best mpg. i have a ls6 intake that will be going on and a underdrive pulley so ill be interested to see how it affects milage. tires are at 40psi

The gears are not helping you one the highway for mpg and are you sure the whining isnt coming from the gears??

oh it is im sure, and i didnt install the gears they came with the car. I wouldnt have that high a gear for an automatic, from what ive read I think I would like a 3.23 with a 3600 stall. i dont have tc though so I have 3 channel abs, which makes finding a used one to fit a pain in the *** so far. being in canada also means i get killed at the border if I were to order a moser 9 or s60. If I was in the states id have a rear, but I get charged 13% taxes on the rear so im looking at over 3 grand after taxes and shipping, duty for the same rear your looking at paying 2500 for. That has stopped my from fixing it thus far, as I havent had that much money to blow at once. So far though the car has gone 11000 miles since ive bought it, on said rear, although it has gotten louder.

weight reduction, more air in the tires, clean your maf and throttle body, mix marine grade tcw-3 2-stroke oil in your fuel 1 oz. per 5 gallons, this will help lube your fuel pump, injectors, and upper cylinders for less friction, it also helps burn fuel with ethonal.
don't look for places to park, instead just park near by, and walk you lazy *** an extra 100 feet. avoid extra idleing time, avoid traffic if possible.

I also believe a bolton car with a good tune can get better mpgs, headers flow better less restrictive intake, ud pulley, run you a/c less in low speed driving.

I get about 19mpg mixed. Best I have ever gotten on the highway is 23mpg that I know of. I have no idea in hell how anyone gets high 20s in these cars.
I have a pos beater car with the kids seats in the back. Its a 96 honda civic with almost 160k and gets me 30mpg all day. God its a **** box but its a necessity to have if you have a toy that is such a narcissist.
Get a beater car or sell your toy for an Al Gore style hippymobile lol

My best so far is about 18.5mpg all highway. But that is through a decent bit of hills and mountains and several low mph speed limits/towns.

Not terrible but I wouldn't mind for it to be better.

I don't bother trying to calculate in town mileage...I'd probably want to kick myself.

i've been told that the drag from driving with your windows down is worst then driving with your a/c on......(dont quote me on this but it is what i was told.) mythbusters also did an episode proving this!

The way I try to save gave besides the usual maintenance especialy after the stall went in is to roll through stop signs, coast to red lights (or past if no one is coming), take off easy on the throttle, stay steady speed on highway, and stuff like that. You can only do so much to save gas before you decide the only way is to not drive it.
