Another thing to consider is whether the 700R4 is stock or built?
A stock 700R4 is weak like an early year 4L60E and was intended for 300 HP/TQ engines. With you aiming for a 500 HP engine, a stock high mileage 700R4 won't last long, maybe not even one WOT run. And as you know the TV adjustment is critical and hard to get right with non-factory setups.
