Default Performance Input drum

Is there a Performance input drum made out of a stronger material? I have done all the upgrades and keep having a failed input drum. Cracks at the splines and snap ring grooves blowing out. And even broke a stock input shaft. Now I have a 300m input shaft billet forward piston and a sleeved input drum. Anything I can do to make it stronger?

I think I would be looking at how the shift kit is set up and make sure that the TCC is not applied when the trans shifts. I honestly have not had an issue with the input drum in a long time. You might also want to put a pressure gauge on your trans to see what kind of pressures you are getting. To keep having the same type of failures something is of here. Vince

There is a drum Made by Raptor... 350-450 .... for the drum.. the only time i have seen them fail was a pressure problem inside the trans.... The one in question was in a Vette.... I have worked in a trans shop 7 years and to this day only seen one fail like yours did... and it happen twice due to the tune....

Generally when you see repeated failure as mentioned its either the converter is locked during the shifts or the shift kit and or tuning presure have been set up way to agressive.
Many times with high stall converter people go overboard trying to get that really firmshift feel they may have had with there stock converter not realizing the trans is shifting just as firm and agressive as it ever did. The converter itself acts like a pillow and absorbs the shock.

what converter do you have?

I had a stock converter and a hard shifting trans breakm youtput shaft at 300rwhp.

Now I have a 3600 stall, softer shifts and the output is still holding at 515rwhp.
