Default Get a bigger transcooler?

I got the performabuilt 4L60E stage 2 that came with 3200 stall and hayden transcooler. It's a very good transmission. The issue I'm having is during stop and go traffic, the trans temps climbs up 200+. Highway/Interstate driving, the temps are no higher than 170 which is very good and half the time even lower than 170. Is there anyone here that has the same setup and can reccommend something that can lower my trans temps for stop and go traffic? I was considering getting a bigger cooler or get a cooler with a fan. Any thoughts or opinions are considered.

bigger is always better. what size is your current cooler? where is it located? a great upgrade if you dont have any type of under car ram air such as the SSRA or FTRA, is the bm 70274. if you do have a ram air then a 70264 mounted "dope style" will do the job.

My car is ramair. my current size is 18,000 and is located on the front of the radiator. it does take awhile for the temps to be at 200 or so. it's slow to heat up but I want it cooler even in stop and go traffic.

do you mean it has the pontiac ram air hood? im talking about a aftermarket underbody ramair scoop. i would go with at least a 24k gvw trans cooler for that car. i believe the 70274 is a 29k. that thing is huge it is 11x11x1.5. has 1/2 npt fittings to run braided line instead of rubber line

Dope style sucked for me. I switched to a 20,000 gvw fin and tube installed behind the ssra on condensor. It does better than the 24k b&m did dope style. If I didnt have cai I would without a doubt go with biggest b&m at the condensor. I may end up getting a b&m with a fan seeing how I havent tested this cooler in hot summer yet. But so far so good.

To give you an update, I bought a cooling fan and mated it to the 29,000 transcooler. This combo required some fab within the radiator area due to small space. It's on there now and it runs cool as hell. In fact, I can stand in traffic and trans temps average 140 to 160 at the most.

Here's the pics of the transcooler with the fan. It's mounted but I havent took those pics yet. It's a summitracing cooling fan which is 50 dollars. Totaled at $130.

Yes it is. Part#SUM-G4901. It's a 10in fan. Had to fab up some brackets.
