I can get an old Pontiac car, for 300 bucks. It has a 400 engine, with what I am guessing is a T-400 tranny. I would like to either put a T-350 or T-400 tranny in my car. Which direction should I go.
1. Buy the car and use the T-400 tranny have it built up and buy the crossmember and other misc. parts.
or
2. Buy a complete kit from a sponser.
I would like the least expensive way. I know that the tranny from the car will have the BOP bolt pattern. When installing a T-350 or T-400 do you have to have an adapter plate or do they normally bolt right up to the LS1? Thanks.
