Thats kind of where I was going with this. In most cases its better to contact ATI or Coan and get what you need. Then just have someone local service it for you when you need it. The problem with these big dollar glides is that most of the money is in the parts. By the time a good builder gets all the parts to put a unit together to support your HP, it is cheaper to go buy one direct in the first place. However if you already have some of the parts like a sfi case/bell/tail, good pump, planet assembly, drum, input shaft, etc then you might save a few bucks having someone build up what you need. Just got the newest issue of GMHTP and a few 1800hp cars are running rossler built trannys, I think they might have been th400 though. I would go with ATI they have proven powerglide performance, and good customer service.

What about FTI.. We build 2-3 glides a day rated to as high as 3000 hp. Look at all the TD cars and TS cars running our products. we stock all components and have units in stock ready to ship, powdercoated, aftermarket case, whatever, You name it we got it!
