Default Get a trans (4l60e) from Who?

Just did a cam (224r), header, LS6 intake install on my 99 vert. The trans had been acting up before the install (wouldn't go into 3rd gear under full throttle). Was told my 3-4 clutch pack was on its way out. Well, after a trip to the tuner, the trans is really gone. It must not have enjoyed its time on the chassis dyno (382rwhp). 3rd is almost totally gone now. Where do I get a good 4l60e that will last behind 500hp and not break the bank. Oh yeah, it should have some good longevity too. Prefer someone near Detroit, but have no problem with shipping something in either. Thanks BTW I already have a 2800 stall converter in the car now and trans cooler if that matters.

Popular ones are Finish Line Transmissions and Performabuilt.

Let Andy do you. LOL. But seriously, the guys at Finish Line Transmission build awesome stuff. Sure, others do to. But the customer service, before, during and after make all the difference in the world

So what you're saying is FLT has better customer service than RPM or Performabuilt?

Thanks for the plug however I'm no longer with the company. I'm building for another shop in the area these days and we specialize in much more than performance units. Mostly late model transmissions, differentials, and transfer cases. However most of what I build are 5 and 6 speed auto's for domestic, foreign and european vehicles. I still build some performance stuff but it is not our primary business. Good to hear you are happy with your purchase. Thanks again. Vince

Both RPM, and FLT really do know their stuff!! Both of them offer INCREDIBLE customer service, and offer SOLID products!! I have an RPM built 6 speed, and an FLT built auto.

Whats the typical build/ship time on your 60s? Time increase with build level number? Good information for buyers to know.
