i was driving my car and i was under a little accl. and i heard a pop, it stopped pulling and i put it in park, put it back in gear, drive wouldnt work but the other gears did for about 20 sec, then they quit, now the only thing that works is rev and park, can anybody help me out on what the prob might be?

 

You likely need an overhaul. Probably burnt forward and 3-4 clutches.

 

This just happenned in my truck tonight. Got on it and when it went to hit second its like it went into neutral. forward gears worked for just another minute and after i stopped at a light it wound not go forward in any gear. Had to drive in reverse the rest of the way home

Forward sprag most likely!!
