Reprogram computer for Converter?
I'm hoping someone can answer this question:
A friend of mine with a 95 Z28 (LT1) is having a Protorque converter installed for his 4L60E. The installer is going with a 2800 stall.
Does anyone know if he will need any type of reprogramming? The Tranny is being overhauled, (shiftkit, HD pump, etc...)
Will he just be able to drive out the door and be happy, or will shiftpoints need to be changed, ect...
I'm very familiar with LS1Edit, but never used an LT1 programmer, but I will probably be the one doing the editting if he needs it.
Thanks for any info.

You don't HAVE to reprogram but to get the max out of the converter you may have to. It also depends on other mods. You want you shift points and extensions to match your engine set up. You may also need to play around with TQ management and line pressure. But if he got a shift kit line pressure may no need adjustment.
His engine is 110% stock, and will remain that way (lots of milage) OK, maybe cold air intake crap, cat-back ,etc, but that's it.
Also, I was not sure if OBDI cars had torque management...
Basically, if it is not a requirement, we can always tweak the computer later.
Thanks for the info.
