4.10 gears would be sweet, since you said it is mostly a drag car with some city driving.

I agree a 4000 would be a nice choice. When i was MS3 cam only i was closer to a 4400 converter and they worked great together!

I have a circle D 4C 3800 stall going in with my MS3, talk to Chris Sehorn at circle D he will give you what you need for what your application is. Circle D was way nicer and had way better customer service than anyone else I talked to.

4000-4400 with 4.10's for how you're describing where you'll mostly be driving it.

was searching for someone who had an MS3 cam and came across this thread. Don't mean to hijack it, but I recently purchased a car that came with a mvb 4l80e/small stroker ls1/ms3 cam/317 heads on 3.23's (just got the car) with a yank 3400 nitrous converter and was wondering the same thing. the car will be bottle-fed soon and has a solenoid lockup...car will be driven probably around a hundred miles or so a week and occasionally track-ran. hopefully rpayne doesn't mind and we can both get some more answers. thanks a lot.

Texas Speed recommends at least a 3600 for the MS3 I believe. I talked to Chris at Circle D specialties about mine, same setup minus the stroker, and that I would be spraying at least 200 in the car. He suggested a 3800 stall, 4C is circle D's model that I went with. On the bottle it will flash around 4500. Look on the right for one of the sponsors, Circle D is one, don't know about the others and ask them to make you something for your needs.

thanks for the replies fellas. i really thought that the converter setup wasn't going to be ample enough for how the car is built, and after somewhat researching similarly-modified LSx's, it was definitely made clear that something has to be done in the way of getting a bigger stall on this damn thing. obviously i'm going to afford myself some other things parts-wise in the process and although i would really like to get this issue out of the way this season, the cash flow simply does not permit for it all to be done at once...need a whole new setup for the rearend and axle (still on the stock a4 3.23 10-bolt) if I ever plan on actually trying to get this thing out from a dig on a decent sized tire, SFC's, and a small shot comparative to what i could be spraying at the thing...that being said, I'm guessing I would be able to sell some of the parts I'm getting replacements for since they are all in really good shape and have relatively low mileage on them, but i certainly know im not walking away with anything on the cheap cheap. less money, mo problems. ha. thanks again and if anyone feels they would like to help a relative lsx newbie with any tips or advice, then, by all means...

AHHHH! real monsters i almost forgot to ask: does it matter that the converter was an fi/nitrous converter? i feel like the thing is very, very tight and that with more power or a shot it would loosen up some? does this make any sense?
