Default 4l80e neutral safety switch help

I have a 2006 4l80e out of a 2500 express van and a 2001 wiring harness out of a chevy 2500 with the 6.0 for my mustang project. My question is the neutral safety switch with the single plug. Is the neutral safety switch interchangable with a earlier one with the double plug as my wiring harness has? Or do I need to change the plug end on my harness? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Jonathan

Check out this thread on LS1tech's sister site:

GOBS of info in there. According to the guy who did a swap from a 4l60e, the switch on his original transmission with two connectors worked just fine. The two connector one for the 4l80e is the same switch as that of a 4l60e. Given that info, the early 2 connector switch for a 4l80e should work fine on your later 4l80e.

I'm going through this swap as well on my Camaro and just picked up a 2008 4l80e with the single connector switch.
