I just bought a B&M SuperCooler part# 70266. It does not come with hoses or fittings. All I know is that I need 1/2 NPT fittings. But Which kind? And what size hose? Keep in mind, I do not want to bypass the radiator.

being that that cooler has 1/2" NPT female threads,you're open to virtually any kind of connection you want to use.

being that the 4L60E case uses 1/4 npt thread for the fluid cooler lines,your choices for fittings is virtually unlimited.
Just make sure you don't overtighten the fittings as cracking the port's aluminum boss will result.

at the radiator,fitting is a 5/16 tubing connection using an inverted flare tube nut. Inverted flare tube nut has a thread of 1/2-20. Camaro parts layout catalog shows this for LT1/LS1 93-02 models.


pic shows 2 pieces of 5/16" tubing with inverted flare fittings and 2 varieties of adaptor fittings to connect a 5/16 inverted flare port to 3/8" I.D. hose.

NPS is national pipe straight,NPT is national pipe taper.1/4nps &1/4npt are the same thread pitch of 18 per inch.

I got 20 feet of braided 6an hose. I used summit brand part #sum-230620

I bought (2) 1/4 -6an fittings for the transmission #sum-220647

these join to my 45 degree hose ends (2) of part #sum-220686

For my cooler I used (2) 1/2-6an fittings part #sum-220649

I used 90 degee hose ends here to connect to those fittings (2) #sum-220687
