I personally would go with a 4l80
you can get a basic 4l80, and not have to do anything special done to it, and it will hold up better than a built 4l60.

Just make sure you have your PCM programmed to be able to use the 4l80...
takes a file swap to one with a 4l80e trans segment, and then a couple of pins in the pcm need to be changed...nothing hard to do, just takes some reading and some time to do it correctly.

Thx. so the 4l60 wont work at all? and If the Pcm came with the motor would it still have to be changed since its programmed to work with a heavy Escalade?

I dont know which pcm you have, and dont know if it originally had a 4l60 or a 4l80
when you said its going in a camaro... I assumed you were using your stock pcm which you can easily put in an a4 file for a 4l60
with a switch of the trans segmnent and a few pins at the pcm your stock ls1 pcm can use a 4l80

a 4l80 with a simple stage 2 shift kit will hold up better than a built 4l60 will...and will cost less than a built 4l60 as well...

The Camaro was/is currently is a v6 so I was planning to put a warren PCM (Ls1) in. I believe the v6's came with a 4l60 trans.

What year V6? And I'm nearly 100% sure V6s did not come with the 4l60E. When I did my engine swap and saw my V6 tranny next the 4L60E, it looked like the 4L60E was going to eat it for an appetizer.
