Powerglide parts help please.
Powerglide parts help please. I am working on a 1.72 gearset aluminum powerglide. Trans has a pro brake/valvebody, Alto red clutch's, Etra wide band, Kolene steels, etc.
What I am worrying about is the little aluminum cup that the last set of splines on the input shaft ride on that I think inserts into the front of the planetary or clutch drum.
Anyhow it looks like a weak link and was wondering if I should replace it for a car making less than a thousand horsepower weighing 3400 lbs or will it be ok? Trans was already going 9's behind a bigblock in a 2200lbs supergas car but that is a huge weight difference.
Sorry I don't have a pic but if someone could point me to a exploded diagram I could show you.
