I was on my way home from the track with no problems (1/8 mile). When I started up a steep mountain the tranny started slipping really bad in 4th and 3rd. The more gas I gave it it then started to shudder. It drives fine with low pedal, but then you give it alittle gas and it starts slipping bad and shuddering. The temp ran alittle warmer coming up the mountain but cooler back off after making it up. Fluid is full and still red, there isn't much burnt smell too it yet, almost none. The tranny has been comepletely gone through before and I have a tranny cooler on it. There car still stalls up the same and shifts hard. Is the tranny going out or is there something wrong with the convertor? Please help.
I had something simular to that when My 3-4 clutches were busting out of the back of the drum. They are probly going south even if thats not the case. I wouldnt drive the car i would have it taken down and checked out asap before more serious damage is done.
This is exactly what my TCI SF3000 started doing, with
the B&M fluid. Torque converter clutch chatter / squeal.
I would change out fluid for a good DexronIII like Castrol,
or one that indicates it meets the newer TCC chatter
specs from GM. The clutch will still slip, but it'll do it
quietly.

Thanks, I went and I am getting the tranny rebuilt thurs. It feels like the clutches are going south in 3 and 4 but, I just wasn't sure why it was shuddering too. It has never done that before when the tranny was going.
