Stepping up to a stock 65e isnt going to give you what your lookuing for. a GOOD performance 60e build (corvette servo, clutches, beast sun shell, ect.) sounds like it would suit your needs better and give you some room to grow.

Not to mention the price on 65's aren't good in the strength vs pocketbook..

Just got off the phone with FLT and their stage 5 (65E) is reduced in price. And how is it Not better? A 5gear planetary over the 4? I have a built 60 in my truck and putting a built 65e immune suburban.

Never said one transmission was better then the other, what i did imply is that swapping out his 60 for a 65 just because you have some bigger rims seems a little, pointless? I would go with a good budget built 60 from a reputable sponsor over a stock 65e swap any day...

i ask because i put some 26's on my truck..and those just tore up my 4l60e it got to the point it would go in 2nd and that it wouldnt go into any gear. fluid was black and smelled burnt... i was looking a some high performance 4l60e. w/ the corvette servo and other stuff also.. i think im going to give that a try

Yea a built 60e would be best for his needs. The rims don't dictate the need for a higher priced Trans. Maybe better brakes. But that's another forum.

gmcyukon,

The only major difference between a 4L60e and a 4L65e is the planetary gears. Your 26" rims will not put enough stress on the stock 4 pinion planets in your 4L60e to cause damage to them. The clutches in the 4L65e aren't any better than what is in your 4L60e either. Like stated befor, you just need an upgrade 4L60e to handle the added drivetrain load that the 26" wheels add. One of our Level 4 4L60e transmissions will do everything you need it to and then some. If you would like to discuss a build give me a call. I would be happy to answer any questions you have. 1-800-406-1109
