whats the most streetable t/c out there?
im not looking to go with a high stall.
i also would like the trans and rear to last awhile also.
i have nittos on the rear.

TCI 3500 is a great streetable converter.

 

Well there are plenty out there, but it would help us ir you could tell us what gears you have and what you consider a "high stall" some may think a 3200 is too much and some think a 3800 is too little, so you see what i'm saying everyone is diffrent. Someone with a stall may be able to shed a little more light on this from experiance

i have the 3.23 rear. im thinking somwhere at about a 3000 stall.

 

depends on how you drive. If you drive at 40-45mph most of the time or higher you won't feel the stall much since it will be locked up.

if you are all city 0-40mph you will feel the pain. i logged my lockup and saw 4th stay locked to 32mph the other day and the car was lugging, but it was not "loose" thats for sure.

i like my tci SSF3500 with 3.42's for a city car.

 

A 3500 isnt bad at all. Dont even know its there untill i floor it.I love my TCI,

 

Yank PY3400 is very tight, I liked it when I had 2.73 gears. I would almos forget it was there.

 

The Yank SS3600 will be very streetable. It will feel very close to a 3000 stall

The SS3600 would be my pick for the EXTREMELY streetable contest.

Anything under a true (not talking about some company's ratings) 3200 stall is a waste, IMO.

 

I should point out that the SS3600 is very streetable from a looseness standpoint. I think for daily driver street use with nittos that the SY 3500 is the best stoplight racer. Its low str makes it easy to get a good launch on cold tires. The down side is that it feels like a 3500 stall is in place.

 

Thanks for asking , 4mula. This has been my question, and I have spent a lot of time on this board researching it. From others' comments, I would have to agree with the Colonel that the Yank SS3600 has the best reputation for streetability. My interest is in having the best of both worlds: snappy part-throttle torque like a stocker, and massive full-throttle torque when floored. Every tc out there is a compromise in some way, but the SS3600 seems to achieve both better than most. Too bad it's so expensive.

you won't notice it that much im telling you. The DELTA of the TCISSF 3500 and the SS3600 is probably VERY little.

show me a video of the driving of the SS3600. I've already posted mine (search) of how the SSF3500 tci drives and have plenty of efiilive logs if you want to compare true "looseness".

3rd locks up at 30mph, 4th @ 35mph, so after 30-35 looseness cannot be considered an issue really.

Comparing small apples to small apples imo. But if money is no object....

 

The SSF3500 is indeed a very fine street converter and without question it's the best there is for the money.

i just got my SS4000 installed and i am impressed with how streetable it is. check out my other post, this is my first converter so i was in your shoes just a few months ago.
