Default converter stall?

I have a pretty bad rear main seal leak, but since i hate doing all the labor to remove the trans just to fix one small problem, I was going to change my converter as well...

The car is a 2002 trans am w/90000 miles, Its my dd. has lid, bellows, and ram air hood.
the most this car will see until i get another car to rebuild is a full exhaust hopefully by summer next year.

So my question is, what size stall should i go with for a daily driven car with mild to no bolt ons, also, is there anything else i should do while the trans is out, or is there anything else i need to install, or do to make the converter work right?

Like mentioned above, something in the 3000+ range is suggested, with the 3600 for even better performance. Adding a cooler is a really good idea, keeping the trans temps down is huge for trans life. Would be glad to help you go over the options to see what will be best for your setup. Let me know if you need any help.

di you have to do anything else aside from installing it, such as a shift kit, or tuning?

Nope only thing was transmission cooler. I've been driving it untuned and it runs perfect, no check engine. Shifts fine and no noticable gas/mileage loss, either. If i were you if you go any more then 3200 id would try to find someone in your area with that size stall and drive with them or test drive if theyre willing, just so you know what it feels like. I know alot of people will say go bigger but im glad i got the 3200.

A vig 3200 is more like a 3400-3500 most likely. My 4000 was more like a 4400.

Yes sir, Vigs are known for flashing a few hundred RPMs higher than what they are rated at.

There are several options that are available for your application from billet 9.5" to 11" stamp steel cover economical converters. We can spec one out for you or you can go to our website and fill out a spec sheet. if time is of the essence JEGS.com has our most popular part numbers in stock.
