Should there be some sort of plug here?

Was changing my oil today and as I went back under to replace the filter I noticed this... Any idea if there should be a plug right here? Looks kinda sketchy.

There is a small metal disk that snaps in there just like the larger one in your pic. It's not a problem that it's missing.
