Default 4l80 trans problem or tuning?

just pulled my car apart so now is the time for me to pull the trans down if I need to. anyways my issue is after i go full throttle and the trans downshifts and get back into cruising the trans wont shift into overdrive for a while or lock the converter. do you think this is a tuning issue or do i have a solinoid going bad or something. if i stop the car and start going again trans shifts into OD fine. trans fluid looked very good fwiw.

Its difficult to say. I'd put a scanner on it and see what the PCM is commanding while experiencing the problem.

Check it with a scanner, it will lose OD because of certain engine, trans, or emissions codes.
