early vs late 4l80e
early vs late 4l80e Hello I recently swapped in a 80e in my m715 with a 6.5 diesel. And I have a trans controller and harness from a 93 6.5 diesel truck with a 80e. And it shifts fine into reverse, 2nd and 3rd but it does not want to shift into 4th at all. I have a rosler back box in it right now and 4th works good. So if there something different in the wiring? Maybe the od pin is else ware idk. I know the 93 truck takes a 80e with the cooler lines that are close to each other like a 60e but the one I have right now has them separate its from a 99 hummer. right around 93 they changed the case plug-cant remember if it was a 92-93 change, but im sure if the black box plugged in, you have the latter plug

If you have the updated harness (93-03 harness) its the same EPC (even if the GM did change the frequency). 04 is a differnent harness/EPC.
