Mayday mayday mayday!!!...

Looks like my Birds Tranny may be going down...

Ive been having a loud Clunk noise when slowing down going from second to first gear.
Now when I put it in drive, at times it revs up a lil then it catches gear. At highway speed. I smash the gas, Redlines, lags and then catches.

Could this be my Stock Torque Converter going out?!?!
Im in the process of ordering my 3600 stall but thats on hold till i figure out what's going on.

All Input welcome... Please Help!

Wow, this reminds me alot when my tranny went out three different times in my old Camaro, I don't want to think about the horrible memories

Trans probably needs a rebuild. This is to be expected when you add a cam that requires higher shift points to a trans that already has some wear on it. I would sort that out before putting in a new and expensive torque converter and then contaminating it with debris from the busted trans.

I've seen some comments about the 4l60e being a problematic transmission. If it comes down to buying a different transmission because whatever is going on cant be repaired... What type of transmission should i go with.

Are Clutches expensive to do?...
