4l60 dipstick install.... help
I bought a flexable dipstick for my 4l60 into a 80. I removed the incorrect on the shop installed and put in the correct one. The problem is I can't get the dipstick tube to seat all the way in the trans. It is in a very tight spot and I can't get leverage to seat it with the car on stands. Any ideas on how to seat it all the way? Tricks? anything so I can finish that part of the project..
thanks
thanks
can you take a picture to show what you are talking about?
I have a trans that is a 4l80 case and I have plenty of room to get in there...
maybe just a coat hanger that you can wrap around the dipstick, pull straight down to seat it, and then bend the hanger to get it off the dipstick..

I installed a madman tube one on my 4l80. I used a little wd40 on the tube to get it seat all the way. It was having a hard time sliding all the way into the little rubber grommet/seal.
coat hanger, swearing, channel locks, having a second person from the engine bay twist left to right while you try to push the tube down into the grommet. All these have worked fine for me
