I got my Trans out right now, Was debating on paying somebody or doing it myself, It's not that difficult, I was quoted 500 by the local AAMCO.

If you have poly motor mounts it's well worth it to have someone else do the swap. That top bolt is a son of a bitch.

Omg, I have had my Trans out in 45 minutes in my sleep. Do it your self or sell your F Body. Easier than changing oil. Don't waste money on having someone else work on your car. That's just me....

Anyone who says pulling the trans is easier than changing the oil sould probably stop giving advice on the internet or close their account... that's just me. The guy obviously hasn't done it before and while it's not that difficult it's definitley not a piece of cake for a first timer. Giving that impression isn't a fair assessment of the job.

If you have solid/poly/or new rubber mounts it makes the job a royal PITA.

I had to drop the k-member about an inch to get to the top bolt. And even then I couldn't see it. Had to feel my way to it with two feet of extensions and a swivel socket. If you have the stock rubber mounts I'd say go for it yourself, the whole stall swap would probably take you a weekend.

Some things are easier for people than other people. I've always been taught to work smart not hard. For me a Trans is easy to pull and I would never pay someone money to work on my stuff, that's just me. I understand if he's never done it before, but there's always that first time.

after the exhaust gets dropped, its really not that hard.none of us know what your mechanical capabilities are,so you are aksing how much money it would cost.the quotes given above are all accurate, but your money would be bette spent on other things.and the learning experience to work on your own fbody would be priceless.
