4l80 questions
I will pick up a 4l80e for my swap. What years bolt up to my 6.0 lq4?
Can I use the stock lq4 flexplate with it?
I want to add a transbrake and a manual valve body. Is the $500 setup that Jakes sells include both?
I want to install a shift kit as well, what one works with Jakes mvb and tb?
Is installing the vb and tb as easy as swapping out valve bodies?
Does anyone use revmax converters?
Will I be giving up any performance with a 4500 stall revmax over a similar yank?
Any other things you reccomend doing before an install?
Thanks,
Dustin
If it's a stock LQ4 flexplate for a 4L80E, yes it will work.
Our transbrake and manual control box are sold separately.
There is no need for a "shift kit" with our transbrake setup. It is specifically designed from extensive testing and is a complete valve body assembly. You never want to try to mix and match different valve body components from any manufacturer.
You need to do a couple of internal mods while installing the transbrake, as with most transbrakes.
I seriously doubt you would lose any performance using an equivalent Revmax compared to a Yank. Although converters are very complicated, the parts used are typically from stock cores or available to anyone with a catalog from the suppliers. Some builders make their own parts such as Circle-D but most are not.
