In need of a converter!!! Five months ago I was making a simple pass at the strip and as every racer is faced with at some point, something broke. The 4l60e transmission was destroyed and had to be fully rebuilt (costing $1300
). Next was the converter which was a TCI 3600 stall that I got for $300 from a fellow racer which stated that the converter was barely used. I ignored my instinct to ship it off to TCI and get it checked out. Bad bad bad decision. The converter had a ripped stator in it and sent medal shards through the the whole transmission(x2!). So now as the the second rebuild is coming close to an end its time to start looking for a converter. I would prefer to have a yank SS3600 but any sellers are willing to post. Thanks!

Sounds like you have some good luck.... lol - I think stepping up to a billet converter is a good idea, we have several options for the 4L60 LS setup. If you want to fill out the Ask Chris form on our site, link in sig, I can give you my suggestion.

Ouch. That sucks. Unfortunately I've seen that quite a few times with fellow racers that saved a few bucks on a budget or used converter and it takes the transmission out when it goes. There's nothing wrong with saving a few bucks, but the good news is that the new converter will be a much better piece than what you had if you do it right.
I don't know anything about your set up, but a 3600 is a nice street/strip choice. You will want more stall, I will almost bet ya $$.lol.

I have Yank SS3600 with roughly 300 miles on it, bought new in July 2011. adding boost for this yr, so I needed a different converter. $500 plus shipping.
