Default 4l80e 750hp

What recommended parts/upgrades are need for the 4L80E to support 750HP at the flywheel?

Without a transbrake?
With a transbrake?

Comments/feedback?

Thanks,
Mike

That's a very borderline combo. The stock input shaft would be suspect. If it was a real lightweight combo (sub 3000 lbs) and NA power or turbo without a transbrake, I would say you could use all stock internals.

Anything over 3K lbs, N2O or supercharged, or t-brake I would recommend at least the input shaft and forward hub.

No,
We don't use or recommend the Alto red clutches.

Why? Seems like there is a lot of mis-leading info out there
on how to build the 4L80E to handle 750HP.

OEM has the best material?
What frictions do you like?

The reds may work fine but my experience was they burn easy. Notice other reputable builders don't use it in the 3-4 clutch pack of the 4L60E?

We use the High Energy material typically. OEM stuff.

Some customers/builders fall for products that are pure marketing. We have extensive experience with all types of clutches and actually have stuff living out there at 1500+ HP. The learning curve gets steep at 1000+ HP. 750 HP is easy and just about anything will work in a 4L80E, just some better than others.

Some builders feel they have to use/advertise the fancy parts to compete because that's the way the market is conditioned. We use what works, not what has the most advertisement. If a customer thinks they need the reds and insist we build it their way, we let them buy elsewhere.
