URGENT question low fluid?

URGENT question low fluid? brand new built transmission paid $800 from a good shop here locally i use for my repair shop.. put all new stuff in it (had to use a used pump though since i crushed it on install :/) but its leaking a bit up front and is low now the fluid is burnt.. low fluids lead to the the transmission fluid turning burnt right?

i was going to drain it put new fluid with some lucas in it.. wasnt going to change filter it was just changed when it was put in 200 miles ago..
im very worried
i just finished it and did the paperwork with my ex to sell it to her with our car lot

I guess at worst all it would need would be steels/clutches due to everything else being done before...TMW im going todo new fluid and lucas.. the transmission is just shifting alittle slow 1-2 and the rest of the gears are fine.. but it has been doing that due to the tune.. it doesnt slip or jump
