Glass bead blasted my trans case - now what?
I'm rebuilding a spare 4L60E with all the "goodies" and wanted the case to look nice. My local trans shop had a cleaning machine which got all the grease off, but it still didn't look that good.
Therefore I had it glass bead blasted today for $50. (I completely sealed it with wooden pieces front and back, put the pan on with a gasket, bolts through all the threads, plugs in the oil and other ports, etc.)
The bead blasting shop offered to powercoat and clear coat it for an additional $150, but that seems like overkill. They said I should seal it with something very soon or even fingerprints will tarnish it.
What would you recommend? What does the factory do?
I don't want anything more complex than a rattle can, although I
could bake it in an oven. I'm think a clear sealant or a silver header or
caliper paint. Ideas?
Thank you.

I don't have a good "before" picture, just this: (and this is after the trans shop ran it through their cleaning machine)
This is what it looks like after glass-bead blasting:
And finally after applying a Clear Engine Enamel:
In case anyone in SE Michigan (Detroit area) is interested, the blasting was done by Michigan Sandblasting in Redford:

After spending $700+ on 5-gear planetaries, new valve body and other goodies, I wanted it to look good too.
