I suggest a 245mm diameter converter. It will give you the performance you are after and still work great on long trips. A billet front with a big lock up clutch will give you the durability and good MPGs you are looking for. Something in a 3500-4000 stall is the typical range, but would love to help you spec one out custom built for your car. Give me a call or shoot me an Ask Chris - link in sig.....

Chris

^^^ what Chris said ! I've taken 5 long trips with stalls,2800 & 3600,neither affected long trip driveability as lockup doesn't allow the 'stall' to come into play. The trips were 2500 miles round trips,Ohio to Florida and back.

3600 minimum. As others have said a stall won't affect long trips except for your gas gauge when you punch it

screw that guys....i just went from a vigilante 3200 stall to a circle D 5c 4000-4200 stall. Flat out amazing!!! Dont be scared. Trust me, i thought i was making a bad move going from that big of a stall. the drivability is the same, and i drive my car everywhere.

I have had my FTI 3600 converter for 2 years now and make several 800 mile one way trips every year. not a single issue.

Look up coan stalls they make custom stuff i got one. I ve been in all kinds of f bodys with stalls vigs., yank, circle d, rev max, tci and the best by far was the coan stall. Call them up and they will make you some nice stuff. Yes its expensive but you cant even tell its there completely!
