I'm going with this hughes flexplate with my new transmission. It wouldn't hurt getting a new flexplate.

With your mods in sig I wouldn't bother unless you plan to run a heads and big cam with that converter. I have many friends who unless they run over 500hp don't even bother. But if you have the money go for it (peace of mind) can't hurt.

What ever you do, don't get the TCI flexplate. It doesn't fit correctly. I got one and the torque converter bolts hit one of the bolts on the rear cover. Made terrible noises. I ended up having to take it all apart and put the factory one back on. I would still like to get an SFI flexplate but don't want to go through that mess again.

i went TCI with mine and had zero problems in my LT1. change it while you're in there. easier than going back and doing later. mine cracked and my motor is near stock. cheap insurance and peace of mind.

I know the newer FPs 01-02 (my car) they were total ****. Mine had cracks in the teeth above all 3 TC bolt holes. I replaced mine with a truck/ls3 one recomended by yank.
I did lots of research on FPs and I have seen more than enough people with problems from the TCI one so I didnt go that way.
When you order from Yank they will set you up with a FP so dont worry. Im pretty sure they have SFI ones now to send with the stalls.

Do a search and you will see the damage that a broken FP can do. You dont want that to be your feet.

I already ordered my converter and being in a rush totally forgot that yank sells flexplates, so hopefully tomorrow I can call them and order one and have them ship it out with my stall.
