Default What should I expect from my new 4l60e/3200 stall?

Im getting my car back in a couple of days after a new tranny install. Its a pretty stout build with a beast shell/torrington bearing, billet servo, zpack, 10vane pump and some other goodies... I also got a Revmax 3200. My motor is stock internal on manifolds.... Ive also put in a 3.42 rear. Not much of a gear change but my Z/T was going to crap. What can I expect? What kind of stall speed will I actually get? Is going to be a totally different car? What are your opinions? The motor will be done after the suspension and tougher rear goes in.

You may not want to take my opinion very seriously. I kinda wish I had a smaller one. Overall I'm very happy with it. I can't get it to hook so I can't gauge any track improvements yet. I paid 384 to my door for mine so yeah, it was def worth it to me.

Yeah, that's the same converter I got I just got mine off of ebay. You just probably got a better deal because you got it from here. We have 3 of their converters no problems yet.

It will change the car completely.. its hard to say exactly what rpm it will run but i would expect 3k i would think... it makes it a different animal off the line but also in a roll race if it flashed pretty good. I think you will be pleased and surprised with how much a good trans will change the slushboxes up

do they loosen up with age?

They asked if I was gonna do FI or spray and I said no but if my mods next summer dont put me in the 11s I was thinking about a 100 shot... Should I change converters for that?

I'm trying to get the time to put a 100 shot wet kit on mine now. I'm not worried that little bit of spray but there again this is the car I drive everyday.

I have a revmax 3200 in my LT1 and it totally changed the way the car drives and feels. It made it a blast to drive. I have as much fun driving it as I do with my 6-speed LS1 car. Its my 1st high stall converter car so I cant really compare it to others but believe me for the 300.00 we paid for the converter it has more then met my expectations. Car has gone a 13.34 with it and that, MSD coil, and a airfoil are the only aftermarket mods

The only engine mods I have are headers and an slp lid and I'm about to get a new converter put in mine (thinking 3200) and the place told me not to go that big of a stall on just those mods....seeing this makes me think it'll be ok to run a 3200, will it?

If you are asking how will drivability and performance with a 3200 stall, it will drive like stock. Once you get on it, it will hit pretty good and pull. I have a vig 3200 and 3.73 and drivability was very much like stock. I know have a circle D 5c which is a 4000-4200 stall and it drives the same as the 3200 but pulls like a monster..

TXZ28LS1, I'm def not trying to start anything but I have an honest question. You really feel like your converters drive like stock? The only converter I ever had that felt stock was a cheap 2400. The lock up is the same and that's about it when it comes to my 3200.

My main question is whether or not it's smart to run a 3200 stall on a basically stock engine. lol I never thought it would be a problem but this shop thought otherwise.

No problem at all. The only mod I have is a 3200 converter. MY converter changed my car big time performance wise but I don't like the way it pulls off. If you're OCD that may bother you like it does me but probably not.

I am OCD but I think I'm willing to sacrifice for the performance. lol how does it pull off differently?

Its not really that big a deal really. I saw a guy on here a little while back describe it as "being stuck in the mud." I just have to give it a little more gas to get it to pull off from a stop. Mine also softened my shifts up a little.
