Default Auto/Stick or MVB?

I was wondering what valve body is better and why? After reading some info on the subject at PerformaBuilt's site.

If I'm correct you can downshift a autostick manually? And obviously a manual valve body?

Why would a auto/stick not be ideal for the track? I left my 60e in D and let it shift and my track times seem to prove the trans shifting itself worked great..

Just wondering why anyone would even want a MVB if a auto/stick works just fine? Or am I wrong, I've never driven anything with a 3sp auto trans.. But it's the only option I have for my car, I'll just say it, I've went through "7" 60e's with in 4yrs.. It's pathetic to say the least. Then I read up on TH400's theres all kinds of annoying things like having to literally come to a stop to shift into first( say if u was gonna do a first gear roll race ), and also supposedly you can't put it in neutral or it'll explode?

I just need some clarification and insight on what to get and how each valve body drives, before I end up spending money on the wrong things. Thanks

You need to figure out what your future goal is for the car. If its a daily driver then stick with the 4l60E or the 6 speed. If its going to be a track car go T400.
a T400 is not good for the hwy your losing your OD fyi

I know a interstate would be rough to travel, but if I planned a long trip I'd just drive another vehicle.

Whether or not I don't even like the th400 to me IMO its my only option. Therefore the reason I'm asking how the different valvebodys drive for a more street friendly car. But is also great at the track.

Most FMVBs are fixed line pressure, so the pumps will wear out faster than a modulated one (either by vacuum or PCM)

Well a longer living trans is the ultimate goal. So a FMVB might not be the most ideal?

Exact answer I was looking for. Thank you very much man!

It's good to know that after I get a th400, most my worries are over in the trans department.
