Id check the u-joints and make sure the driveshaft is centered in the diff yoke... The sun shell is a part inside the trans, Its one of the heavier rotating assemblies... I doubt that is your vibration though... Id look to the drive shaft first...

If the trans mount is new and you purchased a new high energy mount, then that is your problem. I purchased one myself and it about drove me nuts. Put the stock mount back in and everything was fine. From everything that I read that is why the stock mount is so soft and tends to break alot.

A friend told me to buy a old turbo 400 mount, drill and tap the hole in the center and install it. I did, there is still a slight vibration but nothing near what the high energy had.

No that is not a stock mount. That is a high energy mount. I have also seen them in red also. I bought a complete set for mine (both engine mounts and tranny) and wound up removing the tranny mount and installing the D/S engine mount only because of the vibration it caused.

Try replacing it with the 93-97 mount as Anticop suggested. It is a cheap investment to see if it corrects your problem.

I'm assuming you have a stock drive shaft. The drive shaft in the LT1 cars from the factory are notorious for vibrating at 70 and above. Just not balanced properly. A poly mount will exaggerate the vibration problem.

Anticop mentioned the mount for a 93-97 would work! $12 dollars he said! Heck this is cheap enough to check to see if the mount is the problem! Didn't figure someone wanted to spend 80 or 90 dollars on a new stock mount. Unless the one that was taken out is still good. If so change them back out and see if the vibration goes away! Mine did!

I just had a level II tranny and 3200 stall put in.. I used the 97 TA mount and it works just fine... you never want a stiffer tranny mount than you have motor mounts.. all the twist and vibration is transferred to the tail of the tranny and is known to break the tail...

The only difference is the center nut is not interchangeable... get a nut with a shoulder on it and use a washer as well....

ls1 mount, stock= about $80

LTx Mount, stock= about $12
