How to identify 4l80e
Looking to swap my 02 TA over to 4l80e when the 60 goes. What all is needed and what is the best way to identify a 80e? Plan on going to junkyard and pulling one and getting it rebuilt before going in. Or would it be better to just build the 60e and go with it??

How much power is your car making?
4L80e transmissions are pretty easy to identify. They have 2 speed sensors on the driver side of the transmission. The early units have no top bolt hole in the bellhousing so you loose 2 bolt locations. The early units also have the cooler lines together near the front of the bellhousing area. Late 4L80e transmissions have an upper bolt hole and the cooler lones are seperated on the passenger side of the transmission about 10-12" apart. Here are a few pictures.
