Default shifting ques.

ok, so i have gone to the tracks and race in overdrive(the second D, right?) but i was wonderin what everyone else does, i know a few "powershift". but which get the best results, regular drive, overdrive or powershifting? if it is powershifting, then what rpm;s should i shift at? thanks again as i am still learning!

i leave it in overdrive, so when you let off the gas you don't engine brake at 112mph and throw alot of inertia back into the drivetrain.

A tuned car will never trap in any gear but 3rd. unless you have some 2.73's with monster tires and a very high rpm trap then you might trap in 2 lol.

There's no point in "powershifting" an electronically
controlled A4 unless it's programmed for stupidity.
You can't beat the computer. With a lot of practice
you could learn to match what it was going to do
anyway.

"Power shifting" is for ricers who don't have any
power or any clue. Get shift point programming right
and hang onto the wheel.

You'll notice when you shift on your own, unless you go past redline, the car shifts itself where it would have anyway.
