GMC350Guy

I got a 350 Engine and had to replace the transmission. I got one from the junk yard and it does not shift into 3rd. I can go from 1st to second then it hits 3 grand and revs up and i drop it to 2nd it shifts and go back to drive it goes to 4th....what the heck do I have going on? also the transmission case says M30, is this a 4L60E? I have not been able to find the same transmission at the scrap yard with the plug on the pass. side of the tranny next to the heat plate... any help would be great fellas
