Default 4L80E in '88 K5 Blazer Questions

I have been lurking on here for a wile and reading different build threads but everything so far has been on putting a 4l80E in a F-body. Does anyone know what it takes to get one to fit in a non computer controlled car? I know I will have to get a computer to control the transmission, which ones do y'all recommend? GMPP, TCI, etc?

Also what about the shift linkage? I've seen some transmissions that do not have the usual U bracket and some that do.

As far as I understand the pre '97s have the transmission cooler spots in the normal spot but the later ones have them spaced out far apart. Also my motor is a Mark IV 454 so I will need a case with the traditional bolt pattern.

I think those are all the questions for now. Right now I am saving up funds and doing research.

Thanks!
