Default 4L80e HD2 Shift kit: How much power?

The description says it holds big horsepower but I'm just curious if anyone has experience making big power with it.

Hey my man! If it's anything like our Level 4 4L80e, we make ours hold up to 1200HP

The TransGo HD-2 kit for a 4L80E is the best kit available to bolt into a transmission without taking it apart BUT it has its limits.

I would say the limit is going to be around 850 ish or so. It may live a bit longer in some applications (lightweight).

The sandwiched seperator plate limits flow to 3rd gear although it does dual feed.
It also has the potential to create crossleaks.

You can do internal mods and use a stock plate for a more effective method.

Our new transbrake and in the near future we'll be offering a non-transbrake valve body assembly that has a revolutionary 3rd gear circuit in the 4L80E.

I like the sounds of this and hope to be pushing my 4L80e with the HD2 to the limits too. So far 10.68 @ 3700# weight.

i built my own 80E and added the HD-2 (if the trans apart you can use more of the kit) i weighed over 3900 lbs, street car, but ran 9's with drag radials, made close to 650 RWHP
actually started out with the HD-3 kit, but like most wasnt happy with it, swapped out V/B and installed the HD-2, much better setup, esp auto shift on the street
been together 3 years, still perfect

Default transgo intermediate clutch springs

I'm in the middle of my first 80e build. Going with stock rebuild except for the kit. Did you guys use the intermediate clutch replacement springs in the kit. It sounds simple but I'm wondering how easy it is to get the spring retainer assembly back together.

thanks,
Steve

Jake,
Does your calibration kit accomplish the same as the Transgo HD kit? I ordered your kit but am confused on if it does similar dual feeding as the HD2...

With your 4L80E Calibration kit, could I expect similar HP capacity as I would from the HD2 kit?

Thanks,
Nick

My calibration kit for the 4L80E limits fluid flow to unnecessary circuits for quicker apply.

The TransGo kit works OK. I'm not a big fan of the sandwiched separator plate and we experienced some delayed 2-3 shifts when we've used it in the past.

I've also seen some weird pressure issues using their pressure relief setup.

I would use the TransGo kit instead of mine if the kit is being installed with the trans in the vehicle.

Mine is more oriented for installation during a rebuild. I can offer a VB assembly that will work better than anything currently available except my D3 transbrake.
I have to get some parts made in the future but we are going to incorporate some of the design of the D3 transbrake circuits into all of our builds and valve bodies in the future.

I'm not sure what else to answer here.

My valve body recalibration kit is designed to be installed during rebuild for best results.
It's NOT for a mild combo with softer shifts or towing. It's for a serious setup that is making power and you need immediate clutch apply.
In short is shifts fairly hard at all times.

It is a seperator plate, accumulator blockoff plate, gaskets, bolts, and boost valve kit. It's fairly simple to install aside from the internal mods, which are not difficult but require almost complete disassembly.

O sorry but from your post you said "I can offer a VB assembly that will work better than anything currently available except my D3 transbrake." Which made us think u had a valve body not just the calibration kit!

Ahh,
I gotcha. I have plans to make some VB's but need to make some of the parts associated with it and I already have a backlog of projects at the machine shop.
