I have gone through every thread on here to figure out how to remove my shift ****. Every thread I read talks about a "C" clip.

I have a 1996 Z28 that I am in need of removing my shift ****. There is NO "C" clip. It is leather with a seam sewn front and rear, but not a clip anywhere.

Can someone please help.
