i got the shaft shorten over at rubens fleet service for only $75 labor. i already installed the cooler (BnM) and just bought some hard steel lines over at car quest for $10. they where very easy to bend into shape and talk about cheap considering i was going to get custom braided lines made. now my parts list looks like this.

BnM TH400 $500 (bought it brand new 3 years ago from freind that had it in garage)
3800-4200 converter $100 (bought it from same freind)
hurst torque arm mount $130
lokar extended dipstick tube $70
24000gvw cooler $50
BnM prostick $150 (bought it 4 years ago and had it in 3 cars already)
6.0L flywheel $freebee (had it laying around)
6 speed crossmeber $freebee (my car is already a M6)
driveshaft $75 labor to shorten (used, already had 400 yoke on it)
cooler lines $10

so far thats a total of $1085 and considering i already had the tranny stall and shifter, i really only spent $335 . you can bet i am happy. all i am waiting on is the shaft (should be tomorrow) and figureing out how to mount the shifter without drilling any holes in the car (one thing i am totally against since i will restore it to factory shape someday)

Understandable. Good luck.
i agree totally. the real main reason is because i already had one and didn't have the money to build up a 350 right now.

well i finished it up today and went for a drive. drives like my 69 did now. i love it. no vibrations or funny noises but i still have to cover up the M6 shifter hole. total spent for the swap was around $375. this is considering i already had the tranny, flywheel and stall. the swap went smoother then i thought so i should be back at the track soon to see if i gain or lose time. i picked up 1QWIKZ and went for about 3 WOT passes on the side of the freeway. i sure dont have the top end i had with the M6 anymore but the low end feels much better. so inclusion, i feel pretty confident that i have the absolute cheapest TH400 swap on LS1tech. Send them to my email jay.mik@***.net and I will host them for you on my web account.

And for everyone's information....I spent about $3500 for my TH400 swap, and the only thing I had was my M6 crossmember that was of any use for the swap. This guy is the king of cheap street in my book! And my reward for spending all that money on a top of the line setup....spun a bearing after doing a transbrake launch!!!

cool man, i ended up makeing a page on geocities that you can get them from. it is http://www.geocities.com/taqwache/ls1pics.html
i also have some of the motor build up, heads i ported and friends camaro that i am putting a motor in. geocities does not let me put them on this site but if you can, host the ones of the tranny and place them on here so other people can see them.

thanks, steve.
